Denplan FAQ

How much does Denplan cost per month?

Denplan monthly fees are set by your dentist based on your oral health. The national average is £13 to £22/month for Denplan Care, but your fee may be lower if your teeth are in excellent condition, or higher if you require more complex care.

Can I use any dentist with Denplan?

No. Denplan only works through dentists who are registered Denplan members. You must be registered with a specific Denplan practice and cannot transfer to a different dentist unless they are also a Denplan member.

Do I need a dental assessment before joining Denplan?

Yes. Before joining Denplan, you typically need an initial dental assessment. This allows your dentist to set the correct monthly fee based on your current oral health condition.

Does Denplan cover dental emergencies?

Standard Denplan plans (Essentials, Care) do not automatically include emergency cover. You need to add Denplan Supplementary for an extra £0.60/month, which covers dental emergency treatment and dental injuries in the UK and worldwide.

Is Denplan worth it?

Denplan is worth it if you have a registered Denplan dentist, visit regularly, and want a single fixed monthly cost covering routine care and treatment. Use our Plan vs Pay-As-You-Go calculator to see your personal savings estimate.

How is Denplan different from dental insurance?

Denplan is a capitation plan, not insurance. Your dentist receives a monthly fee and provides all agreed treatment. There are no annual claim limits and no need to claim back costs. Dental insurance (like BUPA) is a separate product where you pay premiums and claim.

Can I cancel Denplan?

Most Denplan plans require 1 to 3 months notice to cancel. Check the specific terms with your dentist when signing up.
